Yes I’m still working on an outline.
Combining all these ideas in a way where they all have impact and work with an ongoing story in a way that isn’t overwhelming is proving difficult. Considering this is a mush of nearly ten years worth of material, I’m not overly surprised tbh.
I’ve more or less committed at this point to make the books more episodic, with limited plotlines (probably three at most) going on per “episode”, as opposed to several happening at once throughout each book. There’s just too many arcs in my opinion and it’ll be too much to have them all moving at one time. Hoping the “series of tales” format will mitigate that.
I’ll have a beta reader version one day I swear.

Hypothetically, if I were to put two characters in a box labeled “Fort Asshole”, who should they be?

Slugsworth: *tries to make the child laugh*
Sphynx: *tries to play a game with the child to make them calm down*
Wheezey: *gives detailed instructions to the parents*
Maiden: *cries with the child*
Kid: *ignores the child*
Carbonia: *is the reason why the child is crying*
You can trick moderately hostile/dangerous monsters into being nice fairly easily if you can present yourself with a theme they’re tied to;
The Gourmand? Turn yourself into a merfolk.
Nil? Be an ice mage.
Ari? Simp the royalty.
Trash … um. feed into their ego??
idk if I should retcon Kid’s name to Kidd. Seems more like an actual name. There is a story behind the name tho. Jelly adopted an orphan (probably) Kid as his younger sib… but couldn’t think of anything to call them other than “kid” so that’s just their name now.
